God has lavished His love on us family-wise.

Dear family members:

We were deeply moved when John discussed how they planned to evacuate their home when the risk of fire increased alarmingly. Mercifully John’s visit to Rwanda was delayed- foreknowledge of God is revealed.

Memory lane- The British Consul visited our home in Bajang, East java , advising that the Communist uprising   demanded plan for an immediate evacuation.   John recalled his name- Aitkin Sneath; amazing.   We decided to leave everything, ( napkins and food and drink excepted)   car included,   when we had driven to the South coast, where a submarine would deliver us. Vivid memory of His protection.   Does Ruth recall this incident?

Daniel Gunaratnam flew from Sydney to see Mother, Peter Cheng and me. He often visited our home in late fifties to pray: would leave about midnight- pressed with a due assignment in morning.

We next met him in south Korea - emotional meeting in a store- when planning a half night of prayer before leaving . Daniel had overseen water conservation In Malaysia, Singapore ( draws totally from Malaysia ), Israel, ; had constructed dams near our Javanese hospital for war reparation s ; had built 2 dams in China for 2 and 2.5 billion dollars for World Bank. Mother   asked about underground church, where he worshipped the Lord. ‘there are 100 million believers in greatest revival in history. Now he is an international authority on water conservation.   Next assignment is Laos.  

He preached for one hour of the Lord’s amazing activity .   Told of a Muslim country where one million young people are disillusioned with their dead religion- and love the Lord.  Daniel told of a Brazilian prayer feast 24/7 until the Lord comes.   We discussed the Moravian PM for one hundred years, eventually touching every nation. We prayed our thanksgiving - he hugged, photographed - and was gone. ‘See you in glory, Daniel’ was my final thrust, brushing away   tears of joy at God’s faithfulness over half a century.   Yes, I wept.  

Daniel’s doctorate from MIT Michigan Institute Technology is among the crème of universities.

Stephen has received a call to teach in Yorke Peninsula at Minlaton with provision of a home at Pt Victoria.  Peter Bond has accepted a call to an Anglican school 4 hours south of Sydney, settling in to an excellent environment.   Tess has engaged in courageous exploits as presenter for Channel 10.    Phil watches events in Africa with deep interest, wherein lies His responsibility.

We watched her volleyball this day- kindness of Cil- I learned rules of volley ball from the session .Peter had a break-in to his Toyota Land cruiser and the removal of   irreplaceable photographic equipment; abandoned by villains as ‘highly specialized’ and recovered by a woman, conveyed to police. Every piece recovered. Cil entitled it- Miracle of miracles.   God does protect His children.

Please pray for Judith for the 12 th this month, to see God’s great honor vindicated. She had 88 articles printed in eastern coast papers last year. Achievement.

While David/Bek complete their studies this year; David opens the Word inBaptist churches.

Such   delightful reassurance   to hear such sound teaching.   Compensations in family are rewarding!  

Ruth has recorded details of the weekend for teen- age girls.   800 plus- we marvel at the response; buses gave advertising; girls astonished at power of purity, chastity and dignity of preserving intimacy for married life.   Ruth follows mother twenty years back with Christian Women International and the Know your Bible for home groups. Miriam is deeply linked here- while Ruth on the US side.   Praising God from a father’s perspective.   Enduring treasures when economic values decline while gold is at all-time level.   Spiritual life is in His Son .

Lis/Norman delighted to welcome Shantala and Sash from North Ireland. Luke is justly promoted in his insurance while Simon will soon complete His athletic assignment.   I had no roses to offer Sash- the scene has changed after the torrid summer- garden is gloriously profuse in colour.

We are reaping a harvest of passion fruit in our front garden.   Cil loves them; Mother does also.

Our peaches were microscopic for 2 obvious reasons- the tree were not pruned ( oversight of gardener- the drought for many months meant soil dry and no fluid to ooze from them .   I have boiled many, blended them and will enjoy them over the winter months.  

Medically, pray for Jed; contact Cil who has superintended Jed’s well-being marvelously.

Mother prays each morning for all our children and grand ones- for Norman’ relief; for Peter Clark’s healing and for Elisabeth.   Pray for Lis to have a superb outcome.   God answers prayer. -

I call regularly Phil Messent, lecturer in Anatomy over many years to all Adelaide’s surgeons, (Phillip Carson among others ).   Phil assisted the Professor of spinal surgery at RAH for 10 years ,and then had decompression surgery himself  10 years ago.   Phil, with whom I had worked for 20 plus years, told how UK sends surgeons to RAH under this team, so excellent is their name and workmanship.   Only the hand of our God can work such favorable openings.

Books for Russia and Doulos, largest floating book store of the day.   Recently I realized the deep opposition of the orthodox church in Russia to evangelical missions, even though they have been active for generations.   I picked up my book in Russian: feeling an urgent sense of sending copies to them.   Judith gave an address   linked with Thailand.   I sent out a few invitations to friend to have a part in this project. Also I visualize the English copy available for the new ship Doulos, who years back disposed of an edition of my book.    I prayed- left it all in the Lord’s good hands.   Peter Daniels,  recovered after Singapore offered a counter suggestion.

He had preached in some of Europe’s largest churches (including Ukraine church of 30,000 with 300 satellite churches, who assured him of their support in any project. Incidentally, Nigerian pastors head massive churches in UK (where Peter preached to 12,000) and throughout Europe.

The new ship Doulos visits many great harbours where this English book will be available for sale or in poor countries given selectively.     I will request dear friends to support this printing in English, whether in Thailand or Slavic-speaking countries.

Peter requested, ‘Give me 6 copies of your Russian copy, which I will request be photographed and an edition be made available for Christian leaders.   It amazed me for it could be accomplished with minimal local effort and still enrich lives. We have found 4 copies- yet hopeful of finding others.   Truly, God does all things well: indeed, HE made everything beautiful in His   time.’ Do you have a Russian copy of ADLAB?   WE are privileged to release these books; our Lord is worthy of His over ruling.

Later this month , Mother and I will register our 67 years together.   How gracious the Lord has been.   Such encouraging support from our dear family- and assistance in the home.

Mother’s prayer life delights God - ‘Who is next?‘   is an indication of her beautiful womanhood, which enriched each of you dear family- and many, many others across our nation.

She dresses readily- accepts the help of the nurses twice weekly. The commode is ideal.

We plan a brief visit to Victor Harbor; Ted/June Dewing is 80 - we have enjoyed 50 years friendship- will visit Doug, Joyce Swincer and Jan.   Their   three sons with doctorates in diverse realms tells of the dedicated discipline.    They insist on sleep- cup of tea and then home.

Have given a study on God’s construction of His universe. The first red blood cell was formed and functioned.   ( every one of six to ten million per milli liter must be perfect   ) Adam’s heart pumped, ( 60-80 per minute) The first breath demanded oxygen, ‘For God breathed into his nostrils and he became a living soul.’ Complex Photosynthesis   provided oxygen.   Spirit,   soul and body functioned.   I marveled at His perfection.   Brain orchestrated function of every organ.

Reproductive ova and hundreds of millions of sperms   staggers.    Intelligent design is too moderate.   We take the masterpiece of our existence light heartedly.

Did me good to prepare study on God’s perfect endowment.

My heart overflows with praise to the Lord, as recorded.
