But to every true believer

Christ is not an unknown X.

Our Lord is EX OFFICIO

In whom authority abounds,

And Christ is the EXALTED One

EXCEEDING kings of every land.

As our EXAMPLE perfect

He EXPECTS that we will follow

Him, EXCLUSIVE perfect Saviour –

The One who is our model.

His holy Name is EXCELLENT

Above any name on earth.

And He EXECUTES His wonders

In our lives from time of birth.

His love, His power and blessing

EXCEEDS the works of man. .

Christ’s EXPLICIT words of guidance

EXPRESS His perfect plan.

He’s the rightful EXEGESIS

The interpreter of God.

He’s EXHAUSTLESS in His mercy

As we journey on this sod.

To Him we owe EXISTENCE

From the day that we were born,

And when we EXIT from this earth

We’ll EXPECT that heavenly home.

We’ll EXCHANGE this mortal body

Guaranteed at Christ’s EXPENSE

We’ll EXTOL the Lord of glory

And all our praise EXPRESS.

So Christ is not an unknown X –

His worth let us EXCLAIM

In worship. Love, and praise and joy –

And EXALT His precious Name.
