The swimming pool looked cool and inviting on such a sultry day. Under Java's hot, tropical sun, the water looked blue, and inviting. We excitedly donned our swimming togs.

We all stood at the water's edge, ready to plunge into the water. One by one, each of us dived into the water; lovely and cool on such a day. We splashed, swam, jumped. Having fun. We stayed in the water as long as possible.

After a while, the smallest one in the family climbed out, standing on the edge of the pool, watching us all racing each other in the water. Her father swam to the edge of the pool, coaxing his little girl into the water again. The tiny one stood where the slippery tiles at the edge caused her to fall over into the pool.

It could have been a nasty accident, but she was saved. Do you know why? Her Daddy's arms caught her as the young one fell. While she had a quick ducking in the water, her daddy quickly had her out again before she realised what had happened.

God is more watchful than any earthly father. He never stops being our loving heavenly Father (that is the meaning of eternal God). He is the only safe One for us to trust. His arms are always ready to help us, whether in danger or trouble, or to meet our daily needs.

Never hesitate to ask your heavenly Father for help. He will answer you, always as your Helper; His strong, loving arms are ready for you.

Trust God He is always near
To keep you from danger and fear,
He is loving, kind and good,
Watches over you, supplies your food,
He loves helping every one
Who trusts and follows His dear Son.
