MUSTARD SEED HAS NO LIMITS. C.
While the mustard seed is the smallest of all seeds, yet the mustard tree grows to one and a quarter metres at maturity.
As the mustard seed germinates rapidly,
Jesus likened it to the growth of His kingdom, which includes all
christians. From the small beginnings
of ones and twos who trusted in Jesus, His kingdom grew to millions of
believers.
Our Lord also talked to His followers to
encourage them to grow in faith, by reading the good seed of God’s Word, then
trusting God’s Spirit, the Helper to enable you to understand Jesus’ stories of
His love.
In Colombia, Grandmother Dona Lola was a
widow, and her faith grew like a mustard seed.
A gift copy of Stanley Tam’s book, ‘God owns my business’ set her
wondering how she could use a book written in English, which she could not
read.
Unafraid, Dona Lola took the book to her
doctor. She asked him to read a chapter
to her. He read about the gospel and
God’s exciting miracles in Stanley Tam’s life.
At her next appointment the doctor read another chapter to her. Bravely this widow lady asked government
workers, and labourers , anyone who would read to her. Her seed-faith grew like a tree as she
watched many receive Jesus Christ as Saviour.
Lots of names were written in the Lamb’s
Life book because of the mustard-seed faith of dear Dona Lola.
In a village of East Java, Mr and Mrs
Dennis Trimmer lived. Their
servant-helper heard the gospel from these sincere christians. Wenti believed and trusted in the Lord Jesus
Christ , but remained shy and too scared to tell others about Jesus.
During the crowded Easter services Mr
Trimmer explained the death of the Lord Jesus Christ as the substitute
sacrifice for our sin. He kindly
invited anyone who wished to publicly acknowledge their faith in Jesus Christ as
Lord and Saviour, to come and stand with him.
However, Wenti sat in the back seat with
Ronny, four year old son of the Trimmers.
At his father’s invitation, Ronny walked confidently to the front before
the crowd of people, to show he asked the Lord Jesus to be his Saviour. Wenti
watched her little friend, and in that moment her seed-faith leaped, and she
thought, ‘ If he is brave enough to walk out in front of all these people, so
am I.’ Wenti followed Ronny and stood
beside him to affirm her courage to follow the Lord Jesus Christ. Ronny’s faith challenged Wenti.
There is no limit to what God can do with
a mustard seed.
