Dear heavenly Father, You blessed Heather in her sweet childhood. You honoured her in her young womanhood. You brought her as a cherished, chaste bride to Stewart. Heather skilfully nurtured, and tenderly mothered Josh, Ashley, Luke at her former Bellevue Heights Baptist church; and at Capernwray bible College, Heather was perfect role model as wife and mother to many young people from varying nations.
Dear suffering Lord, Heather and /Stewart endured much: bearing anguish, facing uncertainty, bracing for emergency hospital dashes with immune deficiency; heart-breaking family separation; submitting to numerous surgical procedures, bartering for chemotherapy with its advances ands distresses; raising and dashing hopes; cheerfully adapting to hospital life,
From the initial grievous diagnosis, Stewart's Prayer circulars blessed recipients in our nation - and far beyond. Relief came from news of remissions; exacerbations brought tears and prayer. The letters built strong faith, courage, optimism, realism, stirring many to intercede. He does all things well.
We worship you, Lord as Heather's personal Saviour
and Shepherd: and for her
triumphant home-call to heaven. She left the embrace of loved ones, Stewart
and Josh for the embrace of her Saviour. YOU opened paradise for Heather, welcoming
her to the throne room of God. As Heather's Saviour, You are Worthy as the Lamb
Who was slain.' Thank You that she met her Lord face to face; relieved that
heaven had no more pain, suffering, long nights, weakness, tears.
We adore YOU Lord, for Heather's sure hope of the
bodily resurrection of Christ. For she knew that 'when You shall appear, she
would be like You, for she would see You as You are (1 John 3;2 ) and that '
You would change her lowly body, that it may be conformed to Your glorious body.
(Philippians 3:21) Truly Lord, You were magnified in Heather's body- whether
by life or death.' Heather' knew that all things work together for good to them
who love God, and are called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28)
We exalt you, our risen Lord, for Heather's glorious hope of Your second coming.
, for You promised that You would come again and receive her to Yourself.' She
had been comforted with the word,' That we shall not all sleep; but we shall
all will be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye. We who are alive
and remain unto the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are
asleep. She recalled, that 'Her Lord himself will descend from heaven with a
shout, with the voice of the arch angel, and with the trump of God. For the
dead in Christ (Heather and the vast family of redeemed) shall rise first. Then
we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds
to meet the Lord in the air. Thus we shall always be with the Lord. Precious
promise of rapture.
We magnify Your Name: for Heather's life was hid with Christ in God, so that she was a benediction to many. Heather loved the pledge, 'Now unto You who are able to keep her from falling, and present Heather faultless before the presence of Your glory with exceeding joy to the only wise-God our Father, be glory, majesty dominion and power; both now and forever.
So You have presented our beloved sister, Heather before your Majesty in heaven.
As the God of all comfort, You Lord have sustained Stewart, Joshua, Ashley and Luke, and anguished families, in their unspeakable grief; consoled this church family, and graduates of Capernwray.
Accept our praise and devotion, for You are The resurrection and the life. '
In the WONDERFUL name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ
Please repeat the Family prayer, OUR FATHER, who art
in heaven.
Hallowed be Your Name; Your kingdom come,
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven;
Forgive us our sins, as we forgive them that sin against us;
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil,
For THINE is the KINGDOM, the POWER, and the GLORY for ever and ever.
