LORD JESUS CHRIST IS GOD THE SON AND SON OF GOD Colossians 1:13

Prepared for a dear South East Asian brother, searching for his Lord.

MY BELOVED SON.

The Father calls Him MY BELOVED SON. In Colossians 1:13, we read,' He has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son. 'When He shattered the gloom of darkness, He bore us over into the realm where God's treasured Son prevails. The Father's speech from heaven was recorded in Matthew 3:17, when He told the world 'This is My beloved Son;' at His Son's baptism.

When our Lord was transfigured on the Mount, the Father reaffirmed before Peter, James John Moses and Elijah the preciousness of His dear Son, as in Matthew 17: 5. 'This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him.' Paul clarified this preciousness in Ephesians 1:6, when he wrote,' He has made us accepted in the Beloved. 'Christ is the altogether-lovely One, on whom our complete recognition depends.

Peter was eyewitness of events on the mount, expressing himself in 2 Peter 1:17,
'He received from God the Father from the Excellent glory. My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. 'He heard the Father's voice in his known language.
John in 6:37 stated an eternal principle, 'All that the Father gives me shall come to Me. He, who comes to Me, I will no wise cast out.' The Father lavished HIS love ensuring that we are a love-gift to the Son. Nor would Christ ever banish us.
Activity in the godhead, John expressed in John 6:44,' No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent me draw him; and I will raise him up at the last day.' The father attracts us to His dear Son, while resurrection is Christ's domain.

His dear Son is monarch of His Kingdom.
Daniel 7:13, 14 tells us that 'He saw One like the Son of man coming with the clouds of heaven. He came to the Ancient of days. Dominion, glory and kingdom were given to Him. . All peoples, nations and languages should serve Him. His kingdom is an everlasting dominion.' Numerous angels comprised the clouds of heaven. The Father is reverently the ancient of days, while we worship the Son as Emperor.
In Peter's second epistle, he described in 1:11, 'the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ, which is not perennial but eternal: not transient but enduring. .

In that remarkable prophecy, Zechariah 9:9, Christ is foreshadowed as 'Your King, who is coming to you. He is just, and having salvation, Lowly, riding on a donkey, a colt, the foal of a donkey. This signified the triumphant entry of our Lord into Jerusalem, prior to His Calvary suffering. God wonderfully fulfilled every detail despite the hundreds of years between prophecy and performance.

In 1 Corinthians 15:23, we read, 'Christ the first-fruits, (referring to His resurrection) afterwards those who are Christ's at His coming.' And in v25, His rapture is our blessed hope. 'He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet, a satisfying truth in Genesis 3:15, 'The seed of the woman would bruise the head of the serpent.'

REDEMPTION ONLY THROUGH HIS BLOOD.

Only the SON OF GOD could supply LIBERATION THROUGH HIS BLOOD.
In Ephesians1:7, Paul spoke of the Redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace. His blood was our purchase price: He removed the damning weight of our sin; drawing on the illimitable wealth of His loving-kindness. Paul unveils Him in 1 Corinthians 1:30, as 'Christ Jesus, wisdom from God- righteousness, sanctification, redemption.' Christ portrays the wisdom of our God; through His cross sufferings, He imparted and imputed to us His righteousness; He is our Sanctifier; and our Redeemer. Such mighty facets of Christ compensate for our every weakness.
.
Colossians 1:20 reads, 'To reconcile all things on earth or in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.' Rwanda has discovered the reconciliation in Christ Jesus after the traumatic genocide of 1994. Peace through the blood of the cross is their exultant cry. We may well profit from their experience. In Ephesians 2:13 'Now in Christ Jesus, you who were afar off, have been made near by the blood of Christ.' He brought us close to the Father through His atoning death.

Hebrews 9:14 'How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God. The Trinity, composed of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are portrayed in this verse. Many war veterans have cried, 'Oh, my conscience. When His precious life-blood can fully purify and placate the sense of right and wrong. '

1 Peter 1:19' The precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb, without blemish ad without spot.' No man, prophet, dictator, scientist, or philanthropist qualifies with such just right blood. Only Christ has precious unspotted atoning blood. This compares with Isaiah 53:5, stating 'He was wounded for our transgressions: He was bruised for our iniquities.'

Galatians 6:14 'God forbid that I should glory, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto Me and I to the world.' Paul lifted his standard high, asserting the cross of our beloved Lord to be His greatest glory, which he preached until his last breath. Furthermore, by the shedding of that holy blood, the attractive world had been crucified, and Paul had died to its subtlety.
