GOD’S CREATIVE MASTERPIECE- MAN AND WOMAN.
We-You and I -are His finest handiwork. ‘The Lord God had not caused it to rain on the earth, and there was no man to till the ground. (2:5) The Lord God formed ( yatsar to create or conceive ) man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; (not CPR )and man became a living being.’ Man derived from inorganic chemistry, which has 116 chemical elements (92 when I did medicine). A corrupting body is composed of many such elements.
God breathed and Adam came to life. One trillion body cells sprang into life. Information in each single cell will fill 5 Encyclopedia Brittanica. Adam’s heart pumped, His arteries pulsated, circulating 5 million red and 7-10 thousand white cells per millilitre, while His lungs expanded firstly with God’s breathing then with his complex brain functioning. His digestive, excretory and reproductive systems harmonised. ’Miracle’ woefully, inadequately, describes a great God’s performance. He made man in His own image. Ascribe glory to HIM.
Where did Eve originate? ’The Lord God said, it is not good that man should be alone. I will make him a help-meet comparable to him.’(2:22) ’Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field‘. He observed that the stately lion and lioness, the colorful peacock and hen; the impulsive bull and cow, complemented each other. ’For Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him.’ He was alone! God majestically addressed this imbalance.
The first general anaesthetic and thoracic surgery in human history was enacted.
‘The Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. ’Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and he brought her to the man.’ Observe that womanhood’s living tissue is organic chemistry, ( refined not earthy ), explaining many natural fine-tunings in woman hood, (even in unbelievers ), such as gentleness, tenderness and harmonious family life.
Why the rib? Certainly not a weapon like the cassowary shin bone? It is the most elastic of all bones. Woman hood is adaptive beyond man’s capability. A rib has exceptional nerve filaments; observe the sensitivity of womanhood in caring for little ones, growing children, her husband and guests. The rib has bone marrow for reproduction of cells- womanhood is the reproducer of life. The ribs shelter the heart and lungs from injury, expanding and contracting the chest wall with each breath. Matthew Henry showed in the rib choice that Eve was near to Adam’s heart- to be cherished and protected: not from Adam’s head to rule over her; nor from his feet to be trodden down: but from his side as his equal, a life partner. Adam’s surgery typified our Lord Jesus on the cross dying for His bride, the church: and that blood and water flowed from His side, telling of His costly redemption and the Holy Spirit lavishly outpoured at Pentecost.
‘The Lord brought the woman to the man.’ In this triumphant, creation scene, God established marriage. ’Adam, overjoyed, cried, ’ This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called woman, because she was taken out of man.’ Accept marriage of man and woman from our Creator God, who enriches husband and wife through a life-time. ‘The blessing of the Lord makes rich; and he adds no sorrow.‘ Our culture debases God; rubbishes His holy bible, substitutes a hypothesis of evolution for its origin; and consequently blasts marriage as a God-ordained institution.
Last generation, every church advertised ’marriages solemnized.’
Teach the majesty and awe of our Creator Father, Son, Holy Spirit..
Study diligently and cherish our precious irreplaceable Bible.
Restore Creation to the syllabi of our schools and universities.
Spiritually and intellectually defend and contest His perfect creative handwork.
